In the Clouds Virtual Artist-in-Residence

For her work on a memoir in 10 songs about growing up a Gen X metalhead with undiagnosed OCD, Cynthia was selected as the 2026 In the Clouds (ITC) virtual artist-in-residence with Cactus+, the nonprofit arts and education organization of the Milwaukee, WI-based Cactus Club from June 22-26, 2026.

As part of the residency, she also completed an Artist Talk, for which she was interviewed by poet Angela Voras-Hills, and facilitated a two-hour online generative writing workshop, “Multiply Your Obsessions and Write More.”

Wisconsin-based emerging or established artists of any medium who identify as disabled, neurodivergent, and/or chronically ill were eligible to apply. Cynthia’s work-in-progress on obsessive-compulsive disorder and music was a good fit for a music and arts venue seeking to platform neurodivergent artists.
